Dr Linda Salmon BVetMed, MRCVS
Linda Graduated from the RVC, London, after which she worked as a House Surgeon in the Department of Small Animal Surgery for 2 years. Surgery remains her particular interest. She has had a varied and interesting career, working in New Zealand in a large mixed practice for 5 years. She returned to Devon to set up a mixed practice in a rural area. This grew to 5 vets with specialist equine facilities. In 2007 she moved to Exmouth to take over a Small Animal Practice at Howard House. The premises were soon outgrown, and we were fortunate to be able to renovate and move to White Lodge. The next stage in the project is the renovation of the upstairs to create further consulting rooms and offices. In her spare time Linda walks the dog, plays tennis and enjoys her garden. She loves the sunshine!
Helen Hughes RVN, VPAC
Helen qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Warwickshire College,Moreton Morrell before moving back home to Devon to work in both Small Animal and Mixed Practice. She has a specific interest in wound management.
Helen joined the team here in 2011 as a nurse and has now moved across to the role of Practice Manager. When not at work Helen loves walking with her dogs or can be found playing golf- whatever the weather!
Dr Jenny Turner BVetMed MRCVS
Jenny qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2002 and has worked in Devon ever since. She originally started in mixed practise and became a purely small animal vet in 2004. She enjoys all aspects of first opinion small animal work with a particular interest in dentistry. Out of work she enjoys fish keeping and has three cats. She is also very busy with two small boys and last year climbed Ben Nevis!
Dr John Wood BVSc MRCVS
John was born and educated in New Zealand. After working in mixed practice for six years he left to focus on small animal medicine and surgery which he has been working in for the last 20 years. John has a practical interest in orthopaedic and general surgery. He is also looking forward to working with Linda again as he first worked with her some 20 years ago. Having recently moved to Devon John spends most of his time doing DIY and gardening when the weather allows!
Dr Paul Stanley BVM&S MRCVS
Paul grew up in Devon but graduated “up north” from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine in Edinburgh. He has a keen interest in small animal medicine and ultrasound scanning. When Paul is not working he plays a lot of sport and enjoys walking in the beautiful Devon countryside. He also has a cat called Steve who was a stray handed into us here at White Lodge.
Dr Victoria Altoft BVetMed MRCVS
Victoria qualified from The Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 2002. After a period working in Nottinghamshire and then travelling in South America she moved to Devon in 2005 and has worked in small animal practice since. She enjoys all aspects of first opinion small animal practice and when not at work loves spending time playing folk music with her daughter and running around after her very active small son!
Gillian Bright RVN
Gillian joined us at White Lodge Veterinary Surgery in 2014. She qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2006. She has worked in both general practice and referral practice in Devon. Outside of work Gillian enjoys cycling and keeping up with two young children to stay fit.
Layla Harris RVN
Layla qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in august 2014 after training at Bicton College. She previously worked in a mixed practice for Six and a half years, before starting at White Lodge in October 2016.
In practice Layla enjoys nurse clinics and looking after hospitalised patients. She has a year old silver-spotted tabby called Pebbles who is full of mischief. In Layla's spare time she enjoys playing tennis for her local club and kayaking.
Vanessa Gaskell RVN
Ness qualified in 1999 and has since worked in various practices in East Devon and at the RSPCA Centre in Taunton. She has a particular interest in physiotherapy and behaviour. Ness runs our successful Puppy socialisation group. Her spare time is spent caring for her many pets which include four dogs, two ponies, a cat and a tortoise.
Chloe Squibb is one of our Student Veterinary Nurses. In 2016, she qualified as an Animal Nursing Assistant and has now progressed onto her Veterinary Nurse training. She has two terriers which she enjoys going on long country walks with and two cats one of which is a handsome blue-point Ragdoll cat
Molly is a 2nd year Veterinary Nursing Student, studying the Level 3 Diploma at Bicton college. In her spare time she enjoys fostering dogs and puppies until they find their forever homes. She has 3 cats, a dog and 2 guinea pigs. She enjoys walks around Devon and likes seeing family and friends in France.
Candice has lived in Budleigh Salterton all her life. She joined the team here at White Lodge Surgery 2 years ago and is very passionate about animals. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, walks in the country and fishing.
Julie originally came to work for Linda as Christmas cover some 6 years ago but the surgery has not been able to get rid of her yet!! She has two teenage children and a husband Nigel who is a mixed practice vet locally.
Her background is in human medicine, working for a pharmaceutical company for 10 years in the South West. She spends her spare time with Lexie the family dog and travelling as much as possible.
Mandy has been fortunate to live in Exmouth all her life. She is pleased to have joined White Lodge's friendly team 2 years ago and enjoys helping clients with their animals. In her spare time she enjoys most outdoor pursuits. She loves going to Musicals with her friends. Her favourite being Miss Saigon. She is also interested in Astronomy.
